Glass Ceiling Music: Bio
Glass Ceiling Music
In May 2007, Glass Ceiling Music became a respected company across the industry, booking shows at local venues previously plagued with pay-to-play promoters and below average competition that had been destroying the foundation of the local music scene. In addition to local venues, Glass Ceiling Music has conducted special events such as providing entertainment at Stradelline and Pacific Raceways, Apple Cup at Husky Stadium in Seattle and the AMA Nationals in Castle Rock, WA. In 2008, GCM added Skate Parks and Festivals to thier resume.
Proudly nominated in King5 News/Evening Magazine's "Best of the Northwest" Live Music, Glass Ceiling Music (the only non-venue nominee) was honored by the communities we serve with a Third Place finish in a catagory filled with more than 30 of the areas best venues. The future of GCM is bright as the addition of key staff and corporate sponsors continues to fuel the success of the business.
Travis Orcutt - CEO, Glass Ceiling Music
Travis Orcutt was born and raised in the Lake Tapps area of Sumner. From his first single with RIPPER in 1985 to his last CD with his band, Glass Ceiling, in 2005, Travis has been a part of the local music scene for the better part of two decades.
In May of 2007, Travis decided to give back to the local music scene that had been so good to him over the past 20 years. Based upon three basic principle that are still the focus of GCM today; RESPECT for the Artist, RESPECT for the Venue, and RESPECT for the industry, Travis brought together local artists from around the Puget Sound area as a part of Glass Ceiling Music's "Nothing But Rock!!" event series.
